A FUN WEEK IN MUNICH

A fun week in Munich? It sure was, because I had the best of times. Munich is a wonderful city and should be in your top list of places to visit.
This was not my first time visiting Munich and I will tell you this delightfully, it is not going to be the last.
There is a lot to explore, depending on what you love to do and the time of year. You can tour places like the Allianz Arena if you are a football fan. Or visit The Bavarian State Opera, old and new Pinakothek, Pinakothek der Moderne, Deutsche’s Museum, BMW World, Olympic-Park, Haus Der Kunst, Schloss Nymphenburg, to name a few. For shopping you visit Odeonsplatz and Theatinerstrasse, Marienplatz with the Town Hall (Rathaus) and Maximilianstraße where you have all the luxury designer brands, if you are into fashion and style.
The great thing about Munich is, that there is always something very interesting to do. Like exploring the Bavarian culture, the famous Oktoberfest which is well known around the globe, museums, picturesque architectures, restaurants, art galleries and much more.

Where I Stayed:

I stayed in two different hotels, the Le Meridien by the Munich Central Station and a Best Western Hotel at Arabella Park. The hotels were really beautiful and I loved the two of them, I favoured the Le Meridien because of its location, as it was much easier to get around the city whilst staying there. I would recommend both hotels, but the caveat to this, is the prices for the rooms and this would not be ideal for someone that is on a budget. Both hotels are breakfast inclusive, very clean, comfortable and felt really safe.

What I Did:

There was a lot of catching up with friends, city tour, food, shopping etc.

An Afternoon Lunch:

I took the underground to Olympia-Einkaufszentrum to catch up with my sister-bestie Onyinye, we toured around the Olympic Park, BMW World, took some pictures and went for a quick lunch at this Chinese restaurant in the area and the food was delicious and inexpensive.

Dinner At Prinz Myshkin:

This is a really cool vegetarian restaurant with good food, I was there with the wonderful Ms. Aline, Franz and some friends of theirs. I loved the atmosphere and we had the best of times. I had a Japanese meal that had some buckwheat noodles and it was delicious. The service was great as well.

Max Pett:

This is the best Vegan Restaurant I have ever been to. Their food is so good that I don’t even have the superlatives for how great their food actually is. Their service is impeccable.
I went there four times during my stay in Munich and it was amazing each time. I had this drink I discovered not too long ago called Golden Milk. And I was at fault for having too many burgers, salads and some drink that was so delicious . I do apologise as I can’t remember the name of the drink for the life of me.

Peter Pane Burger Grill And Bar:

This was a really great atmosphere, the burgers were really delicious, I went there with Felix and Franz, we had a great time. The place had such a great vibe and the staff were really lovely.
We had a plater of sweet potatoes, normal potatoes, onions rings, burgers, drinks, and
a lot of chatting and catching up.

Shopping:

I have wanted a good camera grip for vlogging and a smartlav+ mic, which I was able to purchase. Did a lot of window shopping and had a blast without spending money. And took the opportunity to also see a bit of the city of Munich, as it was a really busy beautiful sunny day.

PROS AND CONS

Pros:

There is really nothing much to complain about Munich. It is such a cool and safe city. I must say, the people are nice and friendly. There is a lot to explore.

Cons:

The language barrier can be a little bit of a problem if you don’t speak Deutsch. But all hope is not lost because there are lots of people who can communicate on a level of English that can be of help to a tourist.
You have to be mindful of the places you go to, like restaurants, shops etc, as Munich is not exactly that cheap. It is advisable to plan ahead and take your expenditure into consideration.
Depending on your budget, it may actually be a good thing not to dine out all the time to save some money. You can actually buy certain ready made meals from supermarkets that are inexpensive.

In conclusion, travel is a great teacher. You get to learn about so many things. Visiting a great city like Munich will definitely add to that and the memory will remain with you for eternity. As they say life is a learning curve, you never stop learning.
You can always add to that learning curve through travelling.
