How to dress? Most times people dress up and worry about what other people think of it, they sometimes feel like it’s not trendy, it’s not expensive enough, it’s not a well known designer brand or they appear too cheap, the truth of the matter is, your clothes don’t wear you, you wear your clothes.
The main key to fashion and style is being confident, comfortable and satisfied with what you are wearing, as long as these three key elements are met in your hearts of hearts, wear what you love and be your own kind of beautiful.

Dressing How I Feel


Wear What You Want To Wear:
You often hear things like you are too old for that dress or that outfit or things like you do not have the body type for a swim suit/bikini or any type of clothing that is deemed sexy or classy for certain body types and people that are younger.
With this, certain quota of the public/society will see you as bizarre, distasteful and even disrespectful to say the least, when you wear the clothes that you should not be wearing, according to their rules.
Clothing is made of various sizes, styles, cuts and fits, all you have to do is find the right fit for your body type and shape. Nobody is too old for any fashion /style trends, as long as it works for them.

Always Try Them On:
Make sure to try on majority of the pieces that you intend to purchase, I know this is not practical, because we do most of our shopping online these days ,but you can always return them if they don’t fit properly.
One thing I never make a mistake of buying, in most case, without trying them on are sunglasses.
You don’t want to make the mistake of wearing a clothing item that does not flatter your figure at all.


Luxury Does Not Mean Good Fit And Quality:
I see a lot of people these days wanting to have that one designer item with that big logo and price tag on them without really asking themselves “ do I really want this ?” Is this my style ? Will this work with what I already have in my wardrobe? What value does this, bring style wise for me ? These are just a few questions to be asked and answered. I love a bit of luxury designer brands myself, but I will tell you this from a personal experience that sometimes the less known non luxury brands sometimes make better quality pieces just saying. And come to think of it who wants to be a walking billboard.
Don’t be under any pressure to own any designer item, buy and wear what works for you.

Shop Around For Your Best Fit:
Shopping in both women and mens section has been life-changing for me personally, when it comes to what I wear and that should not be any different for you.


Never Forget The Vintage Stores :
Thrifting is amazing when it’s done correctly, there are lots of vintage stores where you can find classy/sophisticated pieces that can work perfectly for your wardrobe.
Remember! It is all about dressing how you feel and what feels natural to you and this means confidence, comfortable and flattering.
I remember walking up to a lady on Portland Street in Manchester a few years ago to say to them that they looked stunning and stylish.
What she was wearing was classy, stylish, understated and sophisticated, this is someone who knows what they love, what works for their body type, who does not follow any sort of trends, she has a definition for her fashion and style and it was there to be seen and admired.”If you know, you know”!!
For instance, you see certain individuals who wear only black and they look amazing, because they dress and wear what works for them and what they love.

Friends, Parents, Siblings:
Spoke to a mate of mine not long ago where I said to them, you are around family members who have the best vintage items they don’t wear anymore and you don’t want to ask them for it?

I was like this will make you stand out if you just asked.
I have taken things off my friends who no longer have use for them and made those pieces work with what I already have in my wardrobe.
With fashion/style you need to learn how to be creative, especially if you are on a budget.

Just Because It’s A Trend:
Because it’s trendy does not mean it will work for you, never follow a trend because everyone is doing so, define your own style, you can purchase trendy pieces that are your style, that you can easily incorporate into your wardrobe, thereby making it your style-because it is absolutely your style .
Some women do this perfectly, they style themselves with some pieces that are on trend and you can tell that this will never go out of trend for them, because it is their style and it works perfectly well for them and it is giving what it is suppose to be giving If you know what I mean.


In conclusion, define your style, never chase trends, be confident, be comfortable, because it is the key to finding your style.
As I always say any piece you feel comfortable and confident in wearing, is your style.
