We embarked on our journey to Italy as a trio comprising myself, my partner, and one of my closest friends, Ola. Our initial destination was a supercharger station to provide power to our vehicle. Subsequently, we made a brief stop in Udine, passing by The Dacia Arena, which is the football stadium of Udenese football club. Following this, we indulged in a quick bite of margarita pizza and beverages at a restaurant in Udine before departing for Venice. Arriving in Venice was a delightful experience, replete with joy. However, I was particularly disappointed when we arrived at the garage in Venice, where we were granted a parking spot on the seventh floor. Despite our reservations from the garage, it took us approximately 20 minutes to walk to the Airbnb we had reserved with our luggage. That was a difficult task, in my honest opinion.
After checking into the Airbnb, everything became all gleeful again. We immediately had a quick tour of Venice. Come along and experience the sights and sounds of this part of Italy with us through our road trip.
The First Part Of The Trip:
Venice:
We had the opportunity to spend two nights in Venice, and it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. We engaged in a significant amount of sightseeing and had the opportunity to experience a variety of great experiences. The water bus was a delightful means of transportation, allowing us to travel around Venice on four occasions, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Venice is an exceptional city situated on a series of islands within a lagoon. It is renowned for its intricate canal system, historic architecture, and extensive cultural heritage. Venice possesses a captivating amalgamation of Gothic, Renaissance, and Byzantine influences. Venice is known for its unique charm and waterway-based transportation. Highlights include St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, and the iconic Grand Canal. The city’s annual carnival and renowned art scene add to its allure.
Where We Stayed:
The accommodation was exquisite, and the host made us feel at home. The flat, which is a small and cosy two-bedroom flat, was booked through Airbnb and is situated on Calle de la Pagia in Venice.
It was possible for us to experience Venice as if we were one of the locals, if you know what I mean. It is very close to one of the major streets where you can shop for groceries or go to a restaurant.
Where We Visited:
San Marco:
This was an experience that I deeply valued, despite the busy schedule that prevented us from entering St. Mark’s Basilica. However, the fact that we were able to witness such a significant piece of history is truly remarkable. It is a lasting memory that we intend to cherish for ourselves.
Venice’s San Marco district is one of the city’s most iconic and historic districts. It is famous for St. Mark’s Square, which is surrounded by remarkable landmarks like St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, and the Campanile. The square is not only a centre of architectural beauty, but also a hub for cultural events and music.
It is a place where you can enjoy delicious Venetian cuisine at outdoor cafĆ©s, go shopping in boutique stores, and explore hidden alleyways. San Marco is also a starting point for romantic gondola rides along the city’s enchanting canals.
San Marco offers a glimpse into the rich history and cultural heritage of Venice, making it a must-visit destination for travellers seeking both beauty and history.
The Lido:
We took the water bus to the Lido, despite having stayed there with my partner a few years ago during our holiday in Venice. We were eager to revisit it with my bestie Ola. However, the tour was shortened due to rain and thunderstorms, and we arrived at the Lido at a late hour in the evening.
The Lido di Venezia, commonly referred to as āThe Lido,ā is a barrier island situated off the coast of Venice. It is renowned for its sandy beaches and charming atmosphere, and serves as a delightful respite from the bustling streets of Venice.
The primary draw of The Lido lies in its picturesque coastline, which extends for several kilometres and provides an ideal location for sunbathing and swimming during the warm summer months. Additionally, The Lido is renowned for hosting the prestigious Venice Film Festival, making it a popular destination for cinephiles and celebrities.
Beyond the beaches, The Lido boasts tree-lined avenues, exquisite Art Nouveau structures, and a tranquil, resort-like setting. Visitors can explore the island by renting bicycles or simply strolling along its streets. The Lido also offers a diverse range of dining options, ranging from seafood restaurants to cosy cafƩs, allowing them to indulge in the flavours of Venetian cuisine while enjoying a seaside view.
The Lido, with its serene ambiance and proximity to Venice’s historic centre, offers an ideal amalgamation of leisure and culture, rendering it a highly sought-after destination for both locals and tourists alike.
Murano:
The experience was very fascinating, we were on the water bus and made an impromptu decision to see this island. We saw lots of glass work, bracelets, and necklaces made from blown glass. The architecture, ambience, and energy of the place are very calm and inviting.
It is an island located in the Venetian lagoon, just a short vaporetto ride from Venice. This small island is renowned worldwide for its centuries-old tradition of glassmaking, which has produced some of the finest glass art in the world.
Visitors to Murano can explore the island’s many glass factories, workshops, and showrooms, where they can witness the skilled artisans at work, crafting intricate glass sculptures, chandeliers, and jewellery.
Apart from its glassmaking heritage, Murano offers a tranquil escape from the crowds of Venice’s main islands. It boasts lovely squares, churches, and a relaxed atmosphere.
Murano is also a noteworthy destination for those seeking to indulge in delectable seafood at waterfront eateries and cafĆ©s. The island’s laid-back charm and artistic ambience make it a distinctive and culturally rich destination for those seeking to explore the Venetian archipelago.
Fondamente Nove:
This is a brief stop we made, and it is also one of the islands within and around Venice. It is a stunning island with a rich history and is a must-see destination if you happen to be in Venice. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, as it was a serene and unhurried environment, far removed from the bustle of the city of Venice.
Fondamente Nove is a neighbourhood in Venice, located along the northern edge of the city centre. It is primarily known for its vaporetto (water bus) stop and its strategic location as a transportation hub.
One of the main attractions at Fondamente Nove is its stunning panoramic view of the Venetian Lagoon, providing visitors with breathtaking vistas of nearby islands like Murano, Burano, and San Michele. The scenic waterfront promenade is also a great place to visit.
It is also notable for being the main departure point for water buses heading to the Venetian islands of Murano, Burano, and Tor cello, as well as the cemetery island of San Michele.
In addition to its practical significance, Fondamente Nove is a location where you can experience the authentic Venetian way of life. It’s a place to take in the beautiful waterfront scenery, observe daily life along the canals, and observe daily life.
Chiesa DI S. Lazzaro DEI Mendicanti:
I felt calm when I entered this historic church. It feels like you are closer to God if you believe in God.

The Second Part Of The Trip:
Milan:
After having a wonderful time in Venice, we set off for Milan. The drive to Milan was smooth and fun, as we got to see more of Italy than we would have been able to see if we had taken an aeroplane. On our journey towards Milan, our initial stop was Verona to provide the vehicle with power. We enjoyed coffee and biscuits while we waited for the car to charge. We arrived at the Airbnb, and the flat was magnificent. The host was very gracious in explaining all the details to us. The flat was everything I would have wanted, as it was so cool. it is located in Lodi Tibb.
I must express that Milan is exactly as I imagined it to be, both charming and bustling. Furthermore, they had a model casting in the compound where our Airbnb was located. Its architecture is undoubtedly what you would expect from a city of the size of Milan.
Milan is a dynamic Italian city that combines historical heritage and contemporary style. It’s home to amazing landmarks like the Duomo di Milano, a grand cathedral with intricate sculptures. Art lovers can see Leonardo da Vinci’s āThe Last Supperā at Santa Maria delle Grazie. The city is renowned for its high-end shopping at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and is also known for its vibrant fashion scene, as evidenced by Milan Fashion Week. You can explore the cultural treasures of Pinacoteca di Brera and the historical Sforza Castle. Don’t miss the opportunity to sample Milanese cuisine and experience the city’s lively nightlife.
Where We Stayed:
The flat was fully furnished, air-conditioned, and clean. It was converted into a flat, and it has all the necessary amenities. It is a three-bedroom flat. The accommodation is located in an area of Milan known as Lodi Tibb. It is conveniently located in Milan’s major transportation hub, making it a convenient option for us to reach numerous destinations via public transportation.
Where We Visited:
Duomo di Milano:
We took the underground from Lodi Tibb to Duomo. The place was full of tourists taking pictures and making videos. The weather was also good on the day. The Duomo is a beautiful, historic, and wonderful piece of architecture.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II:
It has all the major stores from most luxury brands like Gucci to Prada. It is a unique open space shopping experience for those who love fashion.
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a magnificent and storied shopping arcade in the heart of Milan. This architectural treasure, commonly referred to as the āSalotto di Milanoā or āMilan’s Drawing Room,ā is widely recognized for its exquisite design and opulent ambiance.
The Galleria, which was constructed in the 19th century, is distinguished by its iron and glass dome, intricate mosaics on the floor, and opulent shopfronts lining its corridors. It is a hub for high-end fashion, with flagship stores of famous Italian and international brands and upscale restaurants and cafƩs where visitors can eat Italian food.

This castle is of significant historical significance, and it has been visited by numerous tourists. We explored the castle and took photographs. It is a must-see if you happen to be in Milan. Its architectural splendour and uniqueness are uncommon, and it boasts a substantial compound.

A magnificent courtyard, imposing towers, and fortified walls make up the sprawling complex today. The castle’s architectural style is a mixture of Renaissance and medieval elements, making it a captivating sight for history and architecture enthusiasts.
Within the walls of Sforzesco Castle, visitors will find numerous museums and galleries, including the Pinacoteca del Castello Sforzesco, which houses an impressive collection of art, including works by renowned artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. In addition, the castle contains exhibitions dedicated to applied arts, ancient musical instruments, and historical artefacts.

Como:
Within a few minutes of our arrival in Milan, we drove to Como from Milan. Lake Como is a gorgeous place to visit. We strolled along the lake and snapped a few photographs, before returning to Milan by car.
Como is a town situated at the southern end of Lake Como in Northern Italy. It is an idyllic destination renowned for its stunning natural beauty, historic architecture, and serene atmosphere.
Como has an old town centre with cobbled streets, quaint cafƩs, and centuries-old buildings. Its most iconic landmark is the Como Cathedral, a magnificent example of Gothic architecture with intricate facades and beautiful interior details.
Lake Como, one of the deepest and most beautiful lakes in Europe, is the centrepiece of the region’s appeal. It is surrounded by lush green hills and elegant villas, making it a great playground for water activities, boat cruises, and scenic walks along the lakeside promenade.
It is also well-known for its role in the silk industry, which you can explore at the Silk Museum. The town is also a gateway to the surrounding region, with easy access to other lakeside villages, including Bellagio and Varenna.
Whether you’re walking along the lakeshore, eating Italian food at a local trattoria, or taking a funicular to Brunate, Como is a tranquil and enchanting place that captures visitors with its timeless beauty and serene atmosphere.
Lazise:
While returning home, we stopped at Lazise for a quick tour of the town, lunch, and some ice cream. The town is very tourist-friendly. I am fond of the ambience of the town, as it exudes a distinctly laid-back vibe.
We discovered a truly remarkable and distinctive boutique, and my partner purchased two hats from it.This was an exceptional experience.
Lazise is a town on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. This town is situated within the Veneto region and is renowned for its tranquil lakeside location, imposing medieval architecture, and welcoming ambiance.
Laze’s heart is its beautiful old town, enclosed by well-preserved medieval walls and gates that date back to the Scaligeri period. You’ll encounter squares, historic buildings, and quaint shops and cafĆ©s as you stroll through the cobblestone streets. The Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II is a focal point, often a hub of activity, and a great spot to chill out and take in the sights.
Lazise is also well-known for its lakeside promenade, where you can take leisurely walks along the waterfront, enjoy views of Lake Garda, and soak in the Mediterranean ambiance. The harbour area is often busy with boats, which adds to the town’s maritime charm.
One of Lazise’s most recognizable landmarks is the Scaliger Castle (Castello Scaligero), an impressive medieval fortress adorned with a tall tower that affords sweeping views of the town and the lake.
Visitors to Lazise can enjoy Italian cuisine at local trattorias and restaurants. Lake Garda offers a variety of water activities, from swimming and sailing to windsurfing.
Its combination of historical charm, lakeside beauty, and a relaxed atmosphere make it a delightful destination for travellers looking to experience the enchanting essence of Lake Garda and northern Italy.
Where And What We Ate:
The first day of our trip to Venice, we went to Kim0 restaurant for dinner. We all had sea bass and vegetables with different starters.
Upon our arrival in Milan, we drove to Como, where we stopped at a service station to power the car and had sandwiches at Autogrill. The sandwiches were exceptional and delightful, in contrast to the offerings available at numerous other service stations that I am familiar with.
We explored the lake, toured the town, and ended up buying some groceries as we decided to cook at our Airbnb that evening.
In Milan, we prepared our own food at our Airbnb and ate out a few times. On one occasion, we went to this wonderful restaurant called Bicca. Ola had Cacio e Pepe, and I had a starter that contained mozzarella. My partner ate the same, accompanied by a pasta dish, while I opted for a pizza as my main course.
We had a few drinks at a bar in the Milan rainbow district, one of the evenings of our stay in Milan.
We also dined at Via Pasteria Milano, where I opted for bruschetta with piennolo tomato as the starter and Mascheroni carbonara with aged and peppered guanciale as the main course.
After our lunch, we embarked on a brief sightseeing tour of the city, and during our journey, we encountered a Sophia Loren restaurant. I was compelled to inquire whether the establishment was owned by the renowned actress, and the waiter kindly informed me that it was a tribute to her. I had a lemon cake with a mocktail, my partner had a plum cake with coffee, and Ola had an Americano coffee!
On the third day of our stay in Milan, we went grocery shopping at this great organic grocery store called Naturasi and purchased all the groceries we needed to make some pasta. I prepared pasta for dinner that evening for the three of us.
Our last day was very enjoyable, as I was able to have a photoshoot for all my social channels. Moreover, my partner prepared a delicious vegetable soup for the three of us.
PROS AND CONS
Pros:
Italy has such a variety of historic places to explore, it is quite interesting. The food and service are good. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed ourselves. Venice is truly a unique destination, and it is highly recommended that you visit it if you have the means to do so, as there is a wealth of opportunities to explore and gain knowledge. I loved Milan so much because I love what it has to offer. It is my kind of city because it has most of the things I love and much more. If you possess a passion for fashion and style, it is highly recommended that you visit Milan.
Cons:
I should mention that it is not cheap, it is expensive, but if done wisely, can be very rewarding.
Considering Venice is a tiny city, it felt overwhelming and uneasy to have that many people at once.
Certain things, such as groceries, can be expensive. This street grocer sold us two small watermelons for fourteen euros, fifty cents. It is advisable to plan and exercise caution before embarking on your journey, as it is not inexpensive, unless you desire a less pleasant stay.
Conclusion:
This was an unforgettable experience that will last a lifetime. Travel is a valuable teacher, as it imparts a vast amount of knowledge. This provides an opportunity for individuals to gain knowledge about diverse cultures and geographical locations that may not be familiar to them.
